Congresswoman Denise Majette is a life-long public servant who has spent her career fighting for Georgia families. Majette served as a representative of Georgia’s 4th Congressional District where she was a member of the influential House Budget Committee. In 2004, she was the Democratic candidate for Georgia U.S. Senator. Before serving in Congress, she served as a judge on the Georgia State Court of DeKalb County in 1993 after working as a law clerk for the Georgia Court of Appeals, a Special Assistant Attorney General, and an Administrative Law Judge on the State Board of Workers’ Compensation.



Derryn Moten, Ph.D. is an Associate professor of Humanities at Alabama State University. He is chair of the Alabama Prison Project, a watchdog group advocating for the rights of prisoners and against the death penalty. Moten also serves on the board of the Alabama’s Writers’ forum, an advocacy group for writers.
